·      Kerala is located at the South-Western region of the Indian subcontinent

·      Kerala lies between north latitudes 8º18’ and 12º48’ and east longitudes 74º52’ and 72º22’.

·      The state has an area of 38,863 km2. The total area of Kerala accounts for 1.18% of total landmass of India.

·      Kerala is bordered by land on three sides and by the Arabian sea at the West. Kerala is bordered by Karnataka to the North, Tamil Nadu to the South and the East and the Arabian Sea towards the West. Kerala’s coast runs some 580km in length, while the state itself varies between 35-120km in width.

·      Fourteen districts make up the state of Kerala.
