·
The
average atmosphere conditions of a particular area over a long period of time
is called climate
·
The
factors that determine the climate are latitude, altitude, distribution of land
and water, ocean currents, insolation and sunshine, prevailing winds, soil and
natural vegetation etc…
·
On
the basis of temperature the earth is divided into three climate zones. They
are Torrid, Temperature and Frigid zone
·
Torrid
zone which is the
hottest zone lies between 23½º North and 23½º South, ie, Between the Tropic of
Cancer and tropic of Capricon.
·
Temperature
zone: Lies between 23½º
north and 66½º north North Temperature zone and South Temperature zone lies
between 23½º south and 66½º south. This zone has a marked annual range of
temperature.
·
Frigid
zone lies between 66½º
north and 90ºN in the case of north frigid zone and 66½º south and 90º south in
the case of south frigid zone. They are extremely cold regions
