Prokaryotic Cell: The prokaryotic (Gr. Pro-primitive; Karyon – nucleus)
cells are the most primitive cells that occur in blue green algae and bacteria.
Prokaryotic cells are characterized by the lack of nuclear envelope and absence
of such relatively large and complicated structures or organelles as
endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, mitochondria or chloroplasts.
Eukaryotic Cell: Eukaryotes, on the other hand, have distinct nuclei
bound by a nuclear membrane and membrane-bound organelles (mitochondria,
chloroplasts, lysosomes, rough and smooth endoplasm mic reticulum, vacuoles).
In addition, they possess organized chromosomes which store genetic material.
