The
Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) is an organization in Peechi, Kerala.
It conducts research in tropical forestry and biodiversity. It was established
in 1975 by the Government of Kerala as part of its Science and Technology
Department.

In
2003, it became the part of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology
and Environment (KSCSTE)
·
Forest
Department is subdivided into circle, Division, Range and Section.
·
First
forest Minister of Kerala – K.C George. ‘Principal Chief Conservator of Forest’
is the Head of the Department.
