Agricultural Workers Act (1974) is hailed as the Magna Carta of agricultural
labourers in the state. It prescribed hours of work, security of employment,
higher minimum wages and welfare provisions.

State Agricultural Prices Board was constituted in 1994.

advises the government as well as farmers on the current and future price
situation in respect of major crops so as to promote optimum land use and
cropping patterns within the state.

Information Bureau was established in 1969

Its
head office is at Kowdiar, Thiruvananthapuram with two regional offices at
Ernakulam and Calicut.

It
acts as a single nodal agency to provide active and complete information
support to accelerate the extension and developmental activities of the
department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development.

The
Kelappaji College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology is the only
Agricultural Engineering College in Kerala. It is situated at Tavanur in
Malappuram District
·
A
seed bank and see museum was setup in Kalarkode in Alappuzha
·
Agricultural
Research Station was setup in Mannuthy in 1957.
